MSC Shear

Schechtl shears are the leading architectural shears in the industry because they were smartly designed from decades of sheet metal experience.

The MSC is a motor driven plate shear designed for the heaviest cutting (up to 11 gauge) and is available in a number of different models, with cutting lengths to more than 14 feet. Our most popular are the 10 foot 11 gauge and 13 foot 14 gauge versions.

On the heavier gauge MSC shears, there are five front support arms with T-slots, scales and gauge fingers for easy front gauging. All machines include a 40″ squaring arm with inlaid scales. Longer squaring arms with T-slots and front gauging stops are also available.

During the cut a mechanical hold-down bar with non-skid ebonite lining holds the part. A sheet support behind the machine returns the part to the front and delivers it to an integrated sheet catching device.

Like other sheet metal machines sold by MetalForming, the Schechtl SMC and other shears can be networked together with MetalForming’s exclusive CIRM (Computer Integrated Roof Manufacturing) system. Through a web-based interface, CIRM helps organizes and assign cutting, shearing, folding and rollforming jobs to increase production, efficiency and profit throughout your operation, whether you are a roofing contractor or a metal components manufacturer.
